I declined when asked by elders many months ago. Have not been asked again.
It all depends on what kind of a 'body of elders' is in your cong. Some could be real jerks when you turn down "privileges".
Good luck!🙄

hi folks,.
i have a difficult dilemma.
since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.

hey folks.
i have been looking for the latest on shunning of those who have drifted.
i recall the 2016 convention had a part, and i believe there was a video.
Hey, look who's back!
Hi y'all!!!
The Spanish side of the JWs is soooo different. Parents I know most definitely do NOT shun their children, and we continue to associate and be very cordial to the people that fade.
With the proliferation of the internet, it's so hard for his religious outfit to control the people fully. We may be in total agreement while at the kh, but we can now clearly see through the bull shit.
The 'Awakened' class is growing inevitably inside the Org. Love it!!!

as the jewish holy day of shavuot (pentecost) begins this weekend, the reform judaism site publishes an interesting article entitled "judaism teaches: question authority, think for yourself.".
the article employs a jewish doctor's recollection of a jw patient who refused blood and died as an example of how both religious traditions greatly differ on how they see and apply god's law.. shavuot is the day jews recall god's giving the law to israel.
the article is significant in that it demonstrates how jews see the giving of the law as a call to questioning authority, including divine revelation itself whereas the death of the jw patient is contrasted as a slavish interpretation that misses the point behind jewish scripture.. for more see the article at:.
At the site TYT, under 'uploads', there is an interesting piece on why the gay men ban on blood donations.
Read it and weep as I rejoice on what people who will not accept nor give blood will never have to worry about regarding blood testing to see if it is safe to be transfused.
Not 100% bad, huh?!

in behalf of the horrific events of saturday night, i just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that islam is a religion of peace.
it doesn’t matter that the quran explicitly says that homosexuals should be stoned to death (7:84) - it’s still a religion of peace.
and it doesn’t matter that the scriptures say that all gay men should be killed (sunan 1:152) - islam doesn’t in anyway condone violence.. it doesn’t matter that every mainstream imam calls homosexuality a sin "worse the adultery" - it’s not a religion of bigotry.. it doesn’t matter that 61% of muslims in the uk think gay acts should be made illegal - islam has nothing against the gay community.. it doesn’t matter that countries with sharia law actively persecute the lgbt community - islam is all about peace and love.
Is Christianity a religion of peace?
Do the actions of this self-described Christian nation here and abroad indicate this?🤔

It's the very SAME.
Anyone who identifies as a Christian or when we find out their family is Christian, or the person was raised under the Christian faith, let Christian leaders come out and denounce that the action of said 'Christian' criminal.
Start with the NRA and all the gun nuts. This will help more than just blaming a particular religion.

Islam has to do with the recent Orlando shootout the same way Christianity has to do withTim McVeigh's, Adam Lanza's, the Bundy crew of thugs', the Columbine shooters', the several abortion clinics shooters/boombers, etc., all of their actions.
Hate manifests itself regardless of the religious beliefs.
And while we're in the subject, different Islamic leaders have come out in public to denounce this latest crime. Can we, from this point forward, get Christian leaders to come out in public and denounce the crimes committed by people that call themselves Christians???

absolute obedience to watchtower cult leaders is only necessary because of coercion and intimidation and the duress of having the shun gun pointed at their head for those jw's who are now awake.
the threat is as real as that of a fully loaded pistol.. .
we are all aware of friends and family who are still inside the kingdom halls with very little actual conviction that they are in the truth.
All of us disillusioned also remain inside, especially the ones that have spent a lifetime at this game, because it's what our 'normal', it's what 'speaks' to us; we've made lifelong friends, and if to boot the immediate/extended family is 'inside' also, then it's much more difficult to walk away.
Do not be sad, though, we make it work so that we find happiness in our status.
In the Spanish side is quite easy to be 'awakened', inside and still be happy because we culturally speaking are very gregarious and fun-loving, always some type of a party and we have such a good time at those occasions.
It works for me, it just does. No need for pity here.

me and my wife were at the beach the other day and i finally told her, i don't think i believe in god anymore.
i fessed up to the fact that it started with me doubting some jw beliefs and then it just led me to this point where i don't even believe in god.
i wouldn't say that i even have a negative view towards jw's or religion in general.
If you love her and she respects your stance, why not?
If not, all she says/does will just make you angry; so, just end it amicably now.

boondoggles and preppers watchtower style!
a religion of doom and luxury!.
in 1866, the times of london wrote:.
Terry,
Man, you got too much f'ing time in your hands.
Yes, the WTBTS does exist in style; even the structures they erect in 3rd world countries is way nicer than the local stuff there.
You all ought to see the luxury of Warwick, especially inside the building that houses the GB. Super, super, super plush!!!
Stuff like this is what makes many a JW skeptical of their imminent doomsday message.

it's interesting to observe that in all aspects of life, leaders are accountable to those they lead.. politicians must fulfil their promises, or they are replaced from government.. business corporate leaders like ceos must perform, or they are replaced.. sports coaches and trainers must win, or they are replaced.. yet there are leaders who have often been wrong, have made serious ,mistakes and failed predictions that have impacted the lives of millions.. they have dictated decisions for the lives of millions, yet they can't even be questioned...even in a sincere or polite manner..
A 'normal' JW does not engage in blind obedience.
Many JWs hear all that the WTBTS has to say because we happen not to be deaf, but obeying blindly is a totally different thing and for the most part is certainly NOT done.
Relax.
